How to Make Filipino Mango Float with Only 4 Ingredients!

This recipe is great for you if:

  • You don’t have a Filipino or Asian store nearby.
  • You’re feeling homesick and miss your mom’s cooking.
  • You want an easy dessert for Christmas Eve, "Noche Buena", New Year's Eve, "Mega Noche", or any holiday.
  • You’re making for 4-5 people.

Tools:

Ingredients:

I shop at Fred Meyer/Walmart, and here are the ingredients I used for this recipe:

  • 2 Ripe Mangoes, chopped or sliced
  • 1 Box of Regular Graham Crackers
  • 1 can of Nestlé La Lechera Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 oz / 397 g)
  • 2 cans of Heavy cream/Whipping cream or Nestlé Media Crema Table Cream (7.6 oz / 225 ml)

I live far away from Asian stores, so I only found table cream or Nestlé cream at Fred Meyer, and it still came out pretty good!

Instructions:

1.
Prepare the mangoes

  • Make sure your mangoes are deliciously ripe and oh-so-sweet! Peel them and slice thinly, then set aside.

2. Whip the cream

  • In a large bowl, mix the cream and add condensed milk until you reach the desired sweetness.

3. Layering

  • Prepare a glass container. This is where the magic begins!
  • Keep it simple; use the whole cracker as the base layer, or crush the graham crackers for a softer texture.
  • Start with a layer of graham crackers at the bottom, then add the cream mix, and put mango slices on top. Do this again up to 3-5 layers, depending on the glass container.
  • For the top layer, spread the cream mix and add mango slices. Optional: Sprinkle crushed graham crackers on top.

4. Chill in the Fridge

  • Put it in the fridge for at least 3 hours. Voilà! Before serving, let it sit out for up to 30 minutes, depending on how soft you want it.

Eventually, after mastering my mango float-making skills, I received a promotion to prepare another simple treat: my brother’s favorite Macaroni Fruit SaladIt's easy and simple; all you need are 4 ingredients, too!
