Garden City of Ontario

London in Ontario? you heard that right. A town 3 hours away from Toronto via Greyhound bus service. It's a nice place, not that crowded, a lot of food to choose from, friendly people and there's not much traffic. The traffic in Toronto is just crazy, add in a delayed flight and say goodbye to a relaxing early dinner before your bus service. Well, the Important thing is we were able to catch our 5 pm bus right on time, like 2 minutes away from blasting off. Let's go!

My husband and I decided to visit my cousin's family situated in the Garden City of Southern Ontario. I've been here a couple of times but I haven't really stayed and roamed around town. Our motel is conveniently located in the downtown area. The bus stop is steps away from the area, No frills supermarket less than 10 minutes away, shoppers drugstore too, and tons of food selections. My oh, so beautiful cousin lend us her car so we can drive around town.

This our first time driving in Ontario and we both loved it. London is just perfect to drove around, lots of parking spaces and fellow drivers are considerate and nice.

Afterward, we walked towards Victoria Park for a little walk in the park. Little did we know, there was a small festival in the park. We bought a blue-coloured drink and a chocolate sundae. It rained after we finished our snacks, good thing my cousin was right on time to pick us up. What I love about their small event is that they promoting recycling to everyone, something I'm passionate about.

The last destination is to visit the famous Grand Bend Beach, an hour away from Downtown London. My cousin insisted for us to see this beautiful beach. I was glad it was just a passing rain however the water got really cold when we got there. The fabulous sunset by the beach made it worthwhile for the drive, plus my little niece also got to use his metal detector. Our Mexican food craving continued in Grand Bend Beach, I had my soft tacos at Cheryl Ann Food Truck.

Itinerary Reminders:

1. Flight Details
Make sure to write down your booking reference number, be at the airport two hours before your flight, and allocate time for your travel to the airport.

2. Accommodation Details
Write down your hotel/motel/resort/BnB booking number. Contact your place to inform them around when you'll be arriving — it really does help.  Also, ask if your accommodation has any discounted activities.  You'd be surprised!

3a. Transportation
List possible times your bus/train/boat arrives and leaves so you don't miss an activity.  Always give yourself an extra 30-45 minutes in case you get lost, get stuck in traffic, or are looking for parking.  Better early than late.  Of utmost importance: check for the last trip and fares!  So you still have time and money to get back.

3b. Car Rentals
Take note of your pick-up address and time allotted.  Our last car rental told us to bring the car back by a certain time with a certain amount of gas.  Allot money for fuel and parking.

4. Budgeting
Set aside a minimum and maximum spending amount for meals, transportation, entrance fees, activities, souvenirs, and emergencies.  3 meals a day + snacks add up quickly, so keep track!  As well as tips for restaurants and activities.

5. Activities
Call to confirm your booking(s) a day or so beforehand.  Set alarms and/or calendar reminders for things you plan to do (i.e- bungee-jumping, river-rafting, or even city/food tours).
