For me, the bedroom is all about creating that resort-style vibe, where I can relax and feel refreshed, just like after a great vacation. I'm trying to bring that feeling into my home. The aesthetic I'm aiming for is a resort style with a Boho-Chic flair, a clean and refreshing vibe!
I found a resort-style Bed Frame and a simple wooden End table. To enhance the boho-chic look, I got a Duvet Cover and Duvet Insert in a lovely oat milk color. It's a cozy, warm neutral tone that sits perfectly between ivory and beige, adding a calm, earthy warmth that fits beautifully with the boho style. Finally, I used woven baskets to tidy up the clutter on the end table. For me, simplicity reigns supreme, as I'm still aiming for that clean, minimalist look.

1. Bed Frame
- The bed is the main focus of the room and sets the style. You don't need a fancy bed frame for the resort-style boho chic look.
- The bed frame from Amazon was just the right price. Assembly was manageable and straightforward; all the screws and inserts were available, and it turned out well. It’s durable, even though sometimes our little boys jump on it every morning. It doesn’t squeak and looks very aesthetic too, which is another plus, as it reminds me of those stays we had in high-end resorts in Asia.
- Our King Size Bed looks massive in our room—it takes up all the space. But we wanted a big bed so our little boys can cuddle with us sometimes. Plus, I love the roomy feeling, like being at a resort, sleeping on an endless cloud of comfort. I absolutely love it!

- What I love about this mattress is that the price is right, the softness is perfect, and we've had it for years. We brought this from California as it still works, and it's hard to find this kind of quality. We don’t want to say goodbye to it yet. When we moved, I got a new bed frame, and I have no regrets—this 10-inch King Size Mattress pairs perfectly with the bed frame we got from Amazon.

- Now that the mattress and bed frame are well-structured, comfortable, and aesthetically aligned with my resort-like preference, it’s time for the blanket. When you go to resorts, they always have these soft, big, plush duvets that envelop you in a cloud of magical ecstasy, and you always wake up feeling amazing and beautiful! I wanted that feeling, so I bought an Oversized King Duvet Insert and duvet cover!
What is the difference between a comforter and a duvet insert?
- A comforter is a one-piece blanket that's ready to use.
- A duvet insert is a fluffy blanket that needs to go inside a separate cover, like how you put a pillow inside a pillowcase.
- Get a duvet insert instead of a comforter if your washing machine isn’t big enough to handle that load.
- I prefer the duvet insert because I can just wash the duvet cover without the heavy load of putting the whole comforter inside. Duvet inserts are definitely easier to clean, and you can always change the color or look.
- The duvet insert I got from Amazon was premium quality and feels extremely soft, and the price was great considering the quality warranty. I chose “oat milk” as I tried to avoid white since it gets yellowish over time. They say to use stronger detergents to prevent yellowing, but I don’t use harsh chemical liquid detergents anymore at home. I try to keep it sustainable and avoid skin issues for the family. - Buy a duvet insert that's one size bigger than your duvet cover, like a King duvet insert for a Queen duvet cover. This makes your bed look extra fluffy and cozy.
5. End Table/Night Stand
- To complete the look of my resort-vibe vacation bedroom, I wanted a simple, boho-like end table. I ordered a wooden End table for the resort feel from Amazon. Assembly was incredibly easy, even with the help of my two little boys, and I got native baskets for the Boho look from Ross to complete the look. You don’t have to buy expensive furniture to get what you want; just a little bit of research and creativity will do.

- Utilize rattan or water hyacinth baskets to help organize and declutter your belongings. I’m absolutely in love with these baskets and have them scattered throughout my home, from the kitchen to the living room.
- Whenever we visit a section in stores like Ross, Home Goods or Ikea that features these baskets, my husband knows I’ll be captivated. Sometimes he playfully reminds me, “Careful, babe, we already have plenty!” Haha!

- Add two Euro shams for added height.
- Complete the look with a single, elongated lumbar pillow at the front.
- Feel free to get creative! I personally use our oversized baby Yoda plushmallows, which is light green with beige accents, paired with our dog plushie, which we named ‘Bingo,’ in a darker beige, creating a kawaii (cute in Japanese) vibe that adds personality to our bedroom.
