The tasty connection between traveling and baking is truly delectable. Both pursuits involve exploring and experimenting with new flavors, spices, and ingredients to create something truly unique. Baking offers a chance to indulge in new tastes and aromas, while traveling exposes you to new cultures, cuisines, and perspectives. Both practices are deeply satisfying and enriching, providing endless opportunities for growth and discovery.
Banana muffins are easy to bake because the ingredients are simple and the recipe is straightforward. Additionally, bananas are a versatile and forgiving ingredient, making it easy to adjust the recipe to your liking.
You will need the following tools and ingredients:
Tools:
- Muffin pan
- Large bowl
- Wooden Spoon
- Oven
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 5 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- almonds, crushed (optional)
- dark chocolate chips (optional)
- blueberries (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Take a large bowl and mix mashed bananas with melted butter. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla. Stir well.
- Sprinkle baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir again.
- Add flour and stir until no longer powdery. You can add the chocolate chips or crushed almonds or do it last as I do. BONUS TIP: Brush your muffin pan with olive oil, so you don't need to use baking cups.
- Pour the batter into the muffin pan without overflowing, as it will expand. Top it off with dark chocolate chips, or crushed almonds. To add variety, I enjoy sprinkling half of the pan with chocolate and the other half with almonds.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Bake for 40 - 50 minutes for banana bread, depending on your oven. Allow it to cool inside the oven for 10 minutes before safely removing it.

I don't make meals everyday as I like saving my time for other important things that matter to me. Even before we had a baby my husband and I love the freedom of not worrying about "what's for dinner". We kept it simple, prepare on the weekends or whenever we're both off and do the meal prep that will last us for days. I also use a weekly meal planner to plan our meals in advance, stay on track with our wellness goals, and ensure that we have all the necessary ingredients. Preparing meals is a great way to ensure you have food to eat when you return from traveling. Just heat it up and enjoy!
To use a weekly meal planner effectively, you can start by selecting your recipes for the week, making a grocery list, and then prepping your ingredients in advance. This will make cooking and mealtime easier and less stressful. Remember to be flexible and adjust your plan as needed. Happy meal planning!
