Where to Park
Great Stopover Before Leavenworth, Washington
We stopped at Snoqualmie Falls at 11 a.m. before going to Leavenworth. One child needed to stretch and use the bathroom, and the other needed a diaper change, so it was the perfect place to pause. At Snoqualmie Falls Park, you can find pastries, snacks, coffee, souvenirs, and even umbrellas and other travel needs. Known as one of the prettiest waterfalls in the Northwest, it took our breath away. However, it still doesn't compare to Niagara Falls, Canada, which is the most amazing waterfall I’ve ever seen.
We stayed for an hour before hitting the road again and got to Leavenworth around 2 p.m.
Discovering Snoqualmie Falls Park
There are four primary sections within Snoqualmie Falls Park. Here’s what you can expect in each area:
Upper Park
Trail
Lower Park
Historic Train Depot Area
Hydro Turbine (Water Wheel)
This turbine was set up at Plant Two in 1910 and was used until April 3, 1928. It is a machine that uses falling water to change the water's pressure into mechanical energy. My little one loved this spot, saying it's so big—bigger than him!
