How to Order a PSA Birth Certificate Online from Abroad

Getting your birth certificate from the Philippines can be quite complex. To simplify the process, I have outlined a step-by-step guide on how to request it online through PSA and arrange for a DHL delivery service. I was surprised by how challenging it was to request a Philippine Birth Certificate from overseas, but I successfully managed to do it online and received my PSA birth certificate while being abroad. Let’s go!

PSA and DHL Instructions: How to Request a Copy of Your PSA Birth Certificate Online

Here's an overview of what to expect. It might seem complicated, but I'll guide you through it.


1. Request Your Birth Certificate: First, go to the PSA Serbilis website to ask for your birth certificate. Then, visit the DHL Express website to arrange delivery.


2. Make Two Separate Payments: You need to pay on two different websites—PSA Serbilis and DHL Express. You can use a credit card for both transactions.


3. Keep Track of 4 Reference Numbers:

  • PSA Serbilis 16-digit reference number
  • DHL Express Piece Number
  • DHL Express Confirmation Number
  • DHL Express Tracking or Waybill Number


Here's a step-by-step guide to ordering a PSA birth certificate from abroad:

Open a browser for PSA Serbilis 

1. Go to the PSA Serbilis Website

  • Click on "Birth Certificate."

  • For the "Choose Delivery or Pick Up" option, select "Door-to-Door Delivery" if you're abroad. Your PSA Certificate will be delivered directly to your address, whether in the Philippines or abroad.

  • Click "Request Now" to proceed.


2. Scroll down and click "I agree to the Terms & Conditions" and do the same for the Data Privacy Notice.


3. A page will show you all the info about DHL Express Delivery. Remember the passcode on this page—mine was DHLPSA, but yours might be the same.


4. Triple-check all your information carefully.

  • If you need another certificate, scroll down and click "Add New Request."


5. Click “Confirm”. Complete the mandatory survey; mine didn't proceed without answering it.

  • Then, double-check the number of certificates you ordered—I ordered two.

  • Take note of the PSA Serbilis 16-digit reference number.

  • It will ask you to print two copies of this page. I just clicked “Print,” changed the “Destination” option to “Save as PDF,” and saved it.


Pause here...

  • The page request summary will state the amount needed to pay.

  • You can't proceed to payment yet because you'll need two numbers: the Piece Number and the Confirmation Number. You can find these numbers in your DHL Express Waybill after creating a shipment on the DHL Express website.

  • The next step is where you process the delivery to your home address abroad.



Open another browser for DHL Express



6. Go to the MyDHL+ login page

  • Enter the passcode you received to log in. For example, my passcode was DHLPSA.

  • Click on the “Ship” option in the top menu, then select “Create a Shipment.”

  • The "From" section is automatically filled with PSA Serbilis, including all details. The specific details are: Company: Unisys Managed Services Corporation, Country: Philippines, Address: Level 9 One Cyberpod Eton Centris, and Email: info2@psaserbilis.com.ph. This part can't be changed.


7. Your task is to fill in only the "To" section.

  • For individuals, put your name in the "Company" section.

  • For "Type of ID (for Proof of Identity)," I used my driver's license number.

  • Scroll down, and it will automatically show "Certificates" below that.

  • Afterwards, copy and paste your PSA Serbilis 16-digit reference number


Then select the shipment date

  • This took some time for me as the page said the shipment date should be at least four business days after payment. But I couldn't pick those 4 days since the page wouldn't let me.  This happened in 2024 when we first ordered the certificates, and now it's 2026, and the funny thing is we're still facing the same problem.


  • I got an error message saying, “You need to schedule a courier pickup for this shipment.” I made the transaction on August 10, and after a few tries, I finally managed to select August 12.


8. After selecting the shipment date, proceed to payment.

  • Save the shipping label by printing it or saving it as a PDF after you complete the payment.


Take note of these 3 important numbers:

  • Tracking or Waybill Number, a 10-digit code for monitoring your shipment.
  • The Pickup Confirmation number, which begins with "CBJ" followed by a 12-digit code.
  • The Piece ID, starting with the letters “JD” followed by 18 numerical digits.


I got confused with the numbers because I thought the tracking ID was the piece ID. The DHL PDF was blurry, making them look the same. I had to Google it, which took more time.

After going through this stressful procedure, it’s time to go back to the PSA website to proceed with the payment transaction

9. Go back to the PSA website to proceed with the payment transaction.

  • Copy and paste the Piece Number and the Confirmation Number to the PSA Serbilis website. 

  • I ordered 4 birth certificates and paid 24 USD with PSA Serbilis and paid 40.37 USD for DHL Express.


If you got logout from the PSA Serbilis page

  • Just go to the PSA Check Status page and click “Check Status” in the upper left corner. Type in or paste your PSA Serbilis 16-digit reference number; from here you can proceed to type in the two numbers needed and proceed to pay for the PSA fee.

  • You will get an email receipt from PSA Serbilis and the DHL Express transactions
  • Take note of the PSA Serbilis 16-digit reference number


Delivery Details

10. Check Shipment Status

  • Delivery usually takes 6 to 8 weeks. However, this can change if flights are unavailable or cancelled. I ordered mine on August 10 and got the birth certificate by August 17.

  • To check the delivery status, visit the DHL website, click on “Track” in the top menu, and enter your 10-digit DHL Express Tracking or Waybill Number


For Delivery Notifications

  • To get delivery updates, click on “Sign up for shipment notifications” from the tracking summary and add your email. This will let you know when your package is “out for delivery” or “delivered.”


All done! Voilà! Hope this saved you some time, stress, and white hair! ^__^
